I'm...not understanding.
So, I've recently received a laptop as a gift. I was super excited to download utau and hunt down some vocaloids. Sadly, utau isn't working. I've searched forums and help sites for how to go about downloading utau, and how to put it in english. I then do what they ask, and it doesn't work.
I downloaded (what I thought was) the program, which calls itself utau0276inst. I also downloaded an english patch (or something. they didn't say...just that it would make it all English) and did what they said. But when I go to open the utau program, it shows me a bunch of pop-ups, almost all of which are in Japanese. I follow what it says (or try to D:) and when it finally opens, it says something about a bad number, and then all of the words on the page are in some strange font. Like, symbols. No words. O_o
I just...I don't even know. Should I just delete all utau stuff and start over? If so, could someone give me step-by-step instructions? Like super detailed. Detailed beyond belief. Otherwise, I'm just gonna eff something up again and have strange symbols all over the place. D':

First of all, what OS are you using? I can't tell you how to fix the problem until after you say what you're using, as Windows XP and Windows 7/Vista work differently.

@ MiyuSama639: Um....no...I haven't done anything like that. I don't even know how to do that. ^^;
@ Lucky: ACK! Sorry! I'm running Windows 7. D:

Windows 7? That's great, I'm using it too! This'll be easy, I think.
Go to the Control Panel [accessed from the start menu]
Click "Clock, Language and region"
Under "Region and language", click "change keyboards or other input methods"
Go to "Administrative" tab in the window that pops up.
Click the option that says "Change system locale..." and change it to Japanese (Japan).
I can't remember if any other steps are required, but I hope I've helped at least a little bit.
However, you need to have an admin account on the computer. If you'e the only one who uses the system, you should already have these capabilities.

Re: I'm...not understanding.
After you change the system locale, you'll probably have to reinstall UTAU.
I could be wrong though, I haven't ever had this problem so I don't have any experience in the area. xD;;
